Sue Jensen Weeks Sue Jensen Press Release

(Author of “How Desolate Our Home Bereft of Thee”)Sue Jensen Weeks was born in Provo, Utah. After attending public schools in Lewiston, New York and Palo Alto, California, she attended the University of Utah, University of Oslo, and Rhode Island School of Design. Sue has lived in Norway, Scotland, and New York. She now lives in Salt Lake City.

'Sue Jensen Weeks has pulled together a phenomenal collection of primary sources, which she has deftly woven together to tell the tragic tale of the Circleville massacre. She lets the primary sources tell the story and bridges these sources to set the scenes and place the actors in the broader contexts of the times. As a descendent of J.T. S. Allred she draws upon sources from her own family’s history, but does not use these sources to whitewash events or players. Her affection for the Sanpete Valley landscape, and Spring City, in particular, softens some of the harsher parts of the narrative. Her approach is direct, making it hard to put it down.
